Well hello, I’m Mary Montanari! I create unique, personalized wedding ceremonies that reflect who you are as a couple and as individuals. Your ceremony is the most important part of your wedding day and an investment in your happiness.
I can perform the service at any Toronto location you choose – City Hall, yacht club, restaurant, hotel ballroom or your home. It can be short and sweet, or as long as you like.

Whether they have your guests laughing or grabbing for tissues – or a bit of both – your vows are the heart of your wedding ceremony. You can use vows you found, write your own, or we can collaborate on them. It’s totally up to you.
THE REHEARSAL
The rehearsal helps everyone in the wedding party understand what their role is on the big day so the ceremony runs smoothly and seamlessly. I’ll coordinate every step, whether it’s a large wedding or a small, intimate celebration.
COACHING
Your wedding day lasts one day, and your marriage is meant to last for the rest of your lives. Happily ever after starts with a solid foundation. In pre-wedding coaching, I provide you with the tools to nurture your relationship so it thrives now and into the future.

Hi, I’m Mary!
I’m a registered wedding officiant in Ontario specializing in creative and customized ceremonies.
I’m a vivacious, happy, fun and spiritual person. And it’s no coincidence that I was born on Valentine’s Day — I believe in love and marriage wholeheartedly. It’s why I do what I do for a living. I want to help make one of the most important days of your life memorable, lots of fun and exactly what you hoped for.

I’m a team player and my purpose is to make sure the ceremony is exactly what the two of you want. My role can be as simple as standing on the side and stepping in to perform the official part of the ceremony, and after the papers are signed, your friend can introduce you as a married couple to your guests. Or, I can be part of creating the ceremony and running the rehearsal and stand next to your friend during the ceremony.
Absolutely! For weddings outside of the GTA, my fee is $650, plus travel time. If an online consultation isn’t enough and you also need a rehearsal, I require my travel time be covered. The fee is usually $150 – $180, depending on how much time is needed or if accommodations are required.
I’ll provide you with wedding package options to choose from during our initial discussions and by email. Once you’ve decided on a package, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book your wedding date and time with my licensing body. Once I receive the deposit, I’ll email you samples of vows, readings and poems for your review and we’ll start to create your unique wedding ceremony.
You are. Visit the Government of Ontario website to find out how to get a marriage licence. You can download and print the form and take it to an Office of the Registrar closest to you. Once I’ve performed your ceremony, I’ll mail your signed marriage licence to ServiceOntario to register it. Six to eight weeks after that, you can order a copy of your marriage certificate from the same site.

You two are one of a kind. Your wedding ceremony should be too. I’ll collaborate with you to create a service that reflects your personalities, style and preferences. If you want to include some traditional religious elements, that can be easily done.
I’m proud to conduct wedding services for same-sex couples. I work closely with you to create a ceremony that’s inclusive, respectful and honours your wishes.
Are you interested in having a friend or family member help officiate your wedding? I coach them through the necessary steps, oversee the service and handle the paperwork. Speak to me for complete details.
Handfasting is beautiful ritual in a wedding ceremony where a couple’s hands our clasped together and gently fastened with cords or ribbons – they’re literally ‘tying the knot’ – to symbolize unity and oneness.
Renewing your vows is the perfect way to celebrate reaching a marital milestone and all of the hard work you’ve done as a couple. Your relationship has stood the test of time. Kudos to you both!
